Oreo was born 24 June 2003 - First Day home about 29 August 2003. He is all Poodle. Julie brought home Chien Friday 18 March 2005. We thought he was half Poodle and half Shi Tzu, so we chose the name Chien which means dog in French, arrow in Chinese and combat in Vietnamese. We now think he is all poodle.

Teardrop Trailer Construction

I built my teardrop to replace my tent and not to replace an RV. I plan on camping at the same places that I tent camped. I do not plan on camping in RV campgrounds so electrical power and pressurized water will not be supplied. Because of this I want the teardrop to be self-sufficient.
I wired it for 12 VDC and not for 110 VAC. The battery must last (or be charged by the car) so everything needs to be low power consumption.
I need to store my own water and then be able to refill it so I carry portable water containers.

THINGS TODO:

ELECTRICAL
1) Install brake lights on fenders.
2) Buy (or build) and install interior reading lights.
3) Repair center brake light on hatch.
4) Buy & install conduit and better battery cable.
5) Install new wiring harness.
6) Build electrical box in the galley for:
��6a) Inverter
��6b) Galley 12V socket

INTERIOR
1) Build and install the upper shelf cabinetry.
2) Buy & install interior wood trim.
3) Trim out the vent.

GALLEY
1) Finish the Slideout.
��1a) Make & install drawer fronts
��1b) Poly the box.
2) Finish the upper cabinet.
��2a) Stain and poly the box.
��2b) Permanently attach to main shelf.
3) Stain & poly main shelf support.
4) Make and install the silverware drawer front
5) Repair the cooler drawer.

EXTERIOR
1) Get new bike rack pin.
2) Repair the hatch.
��2a) Install better bent hatch spars?
3) Buy & install better hatch latch.
4) Finish building the front box.
��4a) Then install propane tank holder.
4b) Run propane line to galley?
5) Build tilting storage drawers between frame rails.

Ron was a big help skinning the trailer. His SS tank trailer experience paid off. The trim I bought from Colaw worked (bent) really well. This experience hurt when it came to trimming the hatch. The trim was harder and I just forced it on. I should have softened it with the torch I bought.
